Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour
Work Cycle: Monday two weeks prior to the start of the fall term and continues to graduation

Job Summary
The reading tutor, student employee (Federal Work Study) is responsible for executing and engaging in literacy activities designed for preschool and/or elementary age children. The tutor assists students in reading comprehension through a variety of activities as assigned by K-12 teachers. This position is available to undergraduate students that have been packaged with Federal Work Study (FWS) through Student Financial Services (SFS).

Job Responsibilities
- Provides reading tutoring for individuals and/or groups
- Performs literacy activities and/or projects as directed
- Scores assessments to fully understand student achievement levels, areas for improvement, learning styles, and other academic tendencies
- Responds to student needs in a courteous and appropriate manner
- Exhibits patience and maintains a positive attitude
- Assists teachers in identifying academic needs and developing tutoring plans
- Adheres to outlined schedules
- Follows through on directives and adheres to deadlines
- Provides input on successful reading strategies
- Teaches and models studying, note-taking, and test-taking skills and strategies with students
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's values
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Good academic and financial standing with the University
- Current enrollment in classes at Lindenwood University
- Packaged with FWS funding through SFS
- Satisfactory background screening required prior to being matched with an organization
