Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Investor Relations to help build and execute PharmaEssentiaโ€™s U.S. investor relations capability. This role will strengthen engagement with the global investment community, expand awareness among U.S. healthcare investors, and translate the companyโ€™s scientific, clinical, commercial, and strategic priorities into a clear investment narrative.

The Associate Director will serve as a key liaison with current and prospective institutional investors, sellโ€‘side analysts, investment banks, and other capital markets stakeholders. The role requires close partnership with senior leadership and teams across Corporate Strategy, Corporate Communications, Finance, Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, Legal, and other functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a U.S. institutional investor engagement strategy aligned with corporate objectives, key milestones, and growth priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective institutional investors, including U.S. healthcare-focused funds and specialist biotechnology investors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sellโ€‘side analysts, investment banks, and capital markets advisors.
  • Develop and manage the investor engagement calendar, including healthcare conferences, scientific congresses, nonโ€‘deal roadshows, investor days, and targeted management meetings.
  • Prepare senior executives for investor meetings with briefing materials, investor profiles, anticipated questions, talking points, and Q&A support.
  • Lead development of the investment narrative and prepare investorโ€‘facing materials, including corporate decks, earnings materials, R&D Day presentations, public presentations, executive briefings, investor FAQs, and the quarterly Q&A book.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications on press releases and other public disclosures relevant to investors, ensuring messaging is consistent, accurate, and appropriate for investors and capital markets stakeholders.
  • Maintain data and provide management insights on shareholder composition, ownership changes, investor targeting activity, investor sentiment, analyst commentary, peerโ€‘company valuation, and broader market trends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in investor relations, biotechnology equity research, healthcare investment banking, healthcare investing, corporate strategy, corporate development, or a related capital markets role.
  • Significant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or broader life sciences. Experience in hematology, oncology, immunology, rare disease, or specialty pharmaceuticals strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships with, or substantial experience interacting with, healthcareโ€‘focused institutional investors, sellโ€‘side analysts, and investment banks strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting earnings preparation, nonโ€‘deal roadshows, investor conferences, analyst meetings, R&D Days, or other major investor events.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required. An advanced degree such as an MBA, PhD, MD, PharmD, or masterโ€™s degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position based on greater Boston, MA location is $157,080-204,000. Actual salary pay will be based on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other jobโ€‘related factors permitted by law.
