Job description

We recognize that safety is from God. Having said that, we are committed to giving professional attention to maintaining a sound system of risk management and safety assurance for everyone involved. The Waxhaw Aviation Safety Manager is to guide the Waxhaw aviation department to proactively and reactively improve aviation safety and to comply with OSHA and environmental regulations.

Position Responsibilites

  • Lead in the documentation and maintenance of the JAARS Safety Management System, emergency preparedness, and emergency response system
  • Promote a strong safety culture and sound safety reporting policies
  • Collaborate with the Director of Aviation and key stakeholders regarding safety policies, procedures, and manuals
  • Promote Hazard Identification, risk assessment, and appropriate risk mitigations
  • Monitor & track compliance to government regulation and internal standards, provide oversight for or conduct the internal safety audits as required by the Safety Management System manual
  • Identify and address aviation & OSHA safety training needs to assure the high safety competence of all staff members

Position Requirements

  • Aviation background essential
  • Management experience preferred
  • OSHA experience preferred
  • Experience or training in Safety Management Systems preferred
