Job description

Where you'll work:
Our flexible, hybrid work model offers the option to work remotely or in the office.
 

How you'll contribute:
As an Actuarial Associate on the Pricing team, you'll be responsible for assisting rate setting, new business reporting, modeling, and analysis of current and future products. You can expect to work with part of our broad array of product offerings including Variable Annuities, Fixed Annuities, Registered Indexed Linked Annuities, Indexed Universal Life Insurance, and more. Additionally, in this role you will gain exposure to and interact with other areas across the Company including Investments, Inforce Management, and Product Development.

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Assist in varied aspects of modeling including building, updating, running, and validating the stochastic models.
  • Enhance efficiency and capabilities of existing models and supporting Python scripts.
  • Perform periodic rate setting and profitability analysis, balancing competitive positioning with profitability targets, including analysis of results, attribution of changes, thorough documentation and effective communication of results to management.
  • Monitor product profitability metrics based on actual sales through our new business reporting process.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis around assumption updates and market changes.
  • Keep, develop, and update strong documentation on modeling updates, analysis performed, and process changes.

We're looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or other similarly technical field.
  • Actively pursuing or possessing an ASA / FSA designation with the Society of Actuaries.
  • Strong programming skills with experience with Python, R, VBA, C++, or similar languages. 
  • Exposure to actuarial modeling software such as Aon PathWise, FIS Prophet, or GGY-Axis desirable.
  • Can adjust work resources and deadlines in response to changing business priorities.
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and other MS Office products.

What you'll receive:

  • Compensation -  Level and salary to be commensurate with exam progress.
    • Associate Level (4+ Exams): Base salary ranging from $84,000 to $98,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
    • Senior Associate Level (ASA): Base salary ranging from $100 to $125,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
