Job Summary/Basic Function
The Student Engagement Lead supports the Office of Alumni Engagement by helping plan and implement programs that connect students and alumni. Assistants provide event support, communications, and hospitality while gaining hands-on professional experience. This position develops leadership skills, fosters pride in Millersville, and introduces students to philanthropy as giving back through time, talent, and treasure.
Required Qualifications
  • Current undergraduate student in good academic standing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple responsibilities (academic and work).
  • Dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in customer service, events, or student leadership.
  • Interest in alumni relations, philanthropy, or higher education.

Job Duties
  • Provide logistical support for alumni engagement events and programs.
  • Assist Coordinators and Graduate Assistants with planning and implementation.
  • Manage check-in tables, event materials, and hospitality for guests.
  • Collect stories, photos, and feedback from students and alumni.
  • Model pride in Millersville and encourage peers to get involved.
  • Participate in training on alumni giving (time, talent, and treasure).

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Requires occasional evening/weekend hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. during event setup.
  • Fast-paced office and event environments.
