Job description

Team Lead Associate

Position at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. The Team Lead Associate will provide support to the Supervisor through planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the entire process of receiving, storing and processing Finished Goods materials to the SEWS Customer Base. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research discrepancies that may occur in the shipping and receiving area include daily process.
  • Communicate effectively to Supervisor all issues reflecting daily shift performances.
  • Responsible for providing support to the warehouse associates in the shipping and receiving areas, PHRs, Partial Pallet (Master Labels), Service Parts, Floor and Rack and Process areas.
  • Responsible for monitoring order and receiving flow to ensure daily requirements are fulfilled
  • Key resource for personnel needing assistance
  • Ensure FIFO (First in First Out) is being used by all associates.
  • Ensure Operation Work Instructions are being followed by associates.
  • Perform daily and weekly audits into areas, processes and associates, and report findings and actions to the Supervisors.
  • Participates in warehouse cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Coordinates special warehouse projects along with Supervisors and Management (if apply).
  • Co-Responsible for ongoing training and development of warehouse associates.
  • Co-Responsible for maintaining the warehouse areas clean and organized (6S)
  • Co-Responsible for maintaining SEWS Safety rules and procedures. Participate in Safety audits and Safety drills.
  • Active participation in the safety program to ensure a safe work environment for all individuals in the facility.
  • Responsible for reporting housekeeping issues around the warehouse area
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Management.
  • Ensures all warehouse policies and procedures are being followed to include safety, accurate and timely warehouse transactions, led by example.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • General Safety Training and Forklift/turret trucks Certification (in house training sessions)
  • Candidates must have full understanding on the Finished Goods โ€“ Warehouse Operation processes from receiving, store, process and ship to Customers (OEMs and PIAS).
  • Must have a good command of the English/Spanish language
  • Be able to drive a Forklift (stand up) and Swing reach (turret trucks) equipment
  • Able to use computer using Microsoft office and Web base reports, scanners and data entry.
  • Must be able to read and interpret customer packing, routes, window times and Internal procedures.
  • Must be able to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Must be familiar with customer freight methods and schedules.
