Job description

Summary
The purpose of this position is to develop and sustain efficient operational methods across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to improve profitability. The role is responsible for calculating and maintaining production capacity, coordinating with various teams to manage production progress, and assisting the manager with technician attendance and performance reviews on the compound semiconductor laser chip production line.
Job Duties
  • Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to understand operations and develop solutions that meet Quality, Delivery, and Cost goals.
  • Determine metrics and create comprehensive dashboards to monitor progress and effectively communicate with leadership.
  • Drive projects to increase productivity, reduce lead time, improve quality, and achieve cost savings.
  • Identify manufacturing capabilities and limitations; calculate production capacity and coordinate with the production control team.
  • Improve labor productivity through the development and deployment of best-known methods and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Assist with technician time card approvals in a timely manner and performance data collection and analysis.
  • Support chemical management, including incoming material inspection, registry, inventory counting, and restocking follow-up.
  • Provide training and instruction to the cleanroom cleaning team.
  • Coordinate with various teams on cleanroom incidents, including safety alarms, environmental abnormalities, and equipment repairs (e.g., tablets, laptops, facility systems).
  • Develop and document procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and develop strategies based on data.
  • Knowledge of MES and ERP systems (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SQL and other programming languages (preferred).
  • LabVIEW programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of management and diverse functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing a smock.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

Location
  • This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
