Job description

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties.  This is an on-call position; as needed.  Applications are accepted throughout the school year. 
Qualifications



  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • To substitute for a Special Education Aid, applicants must hold a Special Education Program Aide License through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students
  • Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class
  • Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school
  • Special Education Aid Substitute will support students with special needs by following teacher directions
