We are hiring substitutes in Salina Public Schools.
Remember that educator who made a difference in your life? Now it’s your turn! Substituting is an excellent opportunity to be a mentor and help students become the best versions of themselves. Substitutes are essential in ensuring students continue to learn and grow every day.
Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher. Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher’s aide, instructional assistant, classroom assistant or education assistant.

Minimum Requirements:
• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fingerprint background check
• Tuberculosis test
Pay Rates:
  • Substitute Teacher, including Special Education | Librarian - $15.89 per hour (Talent with an Emergency Substitute License)
  • Substitute Teacher (Certified or Standard License) - $19.49 per hour
  • Substitute Teacher (Long-Term) - $21.68 per hour
*Bonus Opportunity for New Substitutes: Receive $150 after working 21 hours within the first 30 days of employment
Responsibilities and Job Description(s):
• Assume duties of the district employee in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies
• Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
• For long-term teacher assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments
