The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central.
GCS has garnered accolades, including the State's Distinguished School Award and Exemplary Arts Program Award, the California Honor Roll, California Gold Ribbon Award, the Title 1 Achievement Award, California Pivotal Practice Award, the California Charter School of the Year award, and a ranking by USC as one of the best charter schools in California. Job Summary
The Substitute Dance Teacher- Movement is responsible for providing high-quality dance substitute support, and movement and arts instruction to students in accordance with the mission, vision, and instructional expectations of Gabriella Charter Schools. The Substitute Dance Teacher - Movement co-teaches, co-plans, and implements the adopted movement curriculum, delivers engaging and standards-aligned instruction, and supports students in developing technical skills, creative expression, collaboration, and confidence through movement-based learning experiences. This position serves as a substitute teaching assignment and works collaboratively with school leaders, arts educators, and classroom teachers to ensure continuity of instruction and a positive learning environment for students.
