Substation Drafter - Physical

Westwood Professional Services is looking for a detail-oriented Substation Drafter to join our team in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC, or Madison, WI. In this role, you'll prepare civil and physical electrical drawings for high voltage substation projects and renewable energy interconnections, working alongside experienced engineers and designers.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and draft substation drawings using CAD software, including general arrangements, plan and elevation views, grounding plans, foundation plans, and cable trough/conduit layouts
  • Import tables, calculations, and bills of materials, and add drawing notes
  • Review your own work for accuracy before submitting for review
  • Collaborate with engineers and other drafters to identify and resolve drawing discrepancies
  • Support project teams with documentation, meeting attendance, and general project delivery tasks
  • Follow department standards and processes to ensure drawing quality and consistency
