As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack โ€” from electrons to tokens โ€” to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that โ€” with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved โ€” people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Field Engineer to act as the primary technical bridge between design teams and on-site construction partners. This role focuses on the construction phase of Crusoeโ€™s data center campus projects until Operational handover. You will ensure that large-scale power distribution systems are installed safely, accurately, and efficiently to meet the demands of AI workloads. This position requires an electrical professional with a strong mix of electrical construction and design methodologies, power distribution equipment installation and commissioning, and a strong background in construction and/or operational environments and expectations. The role is remote by design, with a minimum travel expectation of 50% - there may come times when this travel expectation is exceeded during critical construction phases. Most travel will be to the construction site that the Electrical Field Engineer is assigned to support. Additionally, the role will be 24/7 on call support to their assigned campus for emergencies that arise.

Preferred remote locations โ€“ TX, AZ, CO, LA, MO, UT, NV for travel ease to job sites.

What You'll Be Working On
  • Support the on-site installation, quality assurance, functional checkout, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure - including medium/low voltage switchgear, power transformers, switchboards, protection and control, UPS systems, and electrical equipment internal to the data center.
  • Monitor the deployment of advanced power backup and conditioning systems, including medium voltage UPS, backup generators, and BESS.
  • Support and direct involvement in substation protection system management.
  • Technical support for RFI process.
  • Technical support for temporary power and electrical switching.
  • Track construction progress against project milestones and ensure adherence to Basis of Design and engineering specifications - without compromising speed.
  • Support rapid resolution of RFIs (Requests for Information) and Field Engineering Directives (FEDs) between the contractors and the internal design team.
  • Own critical lessons learned and field service bulletins that have design ramifications, so that they can be carried back into specs and templating.
  • Support all levels 1-5 of commissioning activities in partnership with Crusoeโ€™s Cx team, reviewing commissioning documents for technical accuracy and assurance of design intent met.
  • Be an electrical safety champion in partnership with Crusoeโ€™s construction partners.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in missionโ€‘critical environments supporting construction and/or operations.
  • Deep practical understanding of electrical power distribution equipment assembly and installation.
  • Handsโ€‘on experience with onโ€‘site construction and partnering with thirdโ€‘party general contractors and electrical subcontractors.
