Registered Nurse (RN)- Daytime, 7:00am - 7:00pm
RN Position Summary:
Samba Recovery Atlanta is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for daytime (7:00am - 7:00pm) in our new inpatient detox and residential substance use treatment facility. 

The RN will play a critical role in providing 24/7 medical monitoring and support for individuals undergoing withdrawal and early recovery from substance use disorders. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support stabilization and ongoing recovery.
RN Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Monitoring

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in detox and residential levels of care. 
  • Perform ongoing assessments including vital signs, CIWA/COWS scoring, and withdrawal monitoring
  • Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition

Medication Administration

  • Administer medications as ordered, including detox protocols and controlled substances
  • Monitor for side effects, adverse reactions, and effectiveness of medications
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medication documentation (MAR)

Admissions & Assessments

  • Complete nursing assessments upon admission and during overnight hours as needed
  • Assist with medical clearances and coordination of care during intake

Crisis & Emergency Response

  • Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies, including acute withdrawal complications
  • Initiate appropriate interventions and coordinate higher levels of care when necessary

Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with providers, therapists, behavioral health technicians, and leadership
  • Participate in shift handoffs and provide detailed overnight updates to the clinical team

Patient Education & Support

  • Provide education on withdrawal, medications, and health stabilization
  • Support a safe, structured, and therapeutic overnight environment

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with state, DEA, and TJC standards
  • Ensure adherence to all policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements
RN Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia
  • Experience: 
    • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in detox, inpatient behavioral health or substance use treatment
    • Experience with withdrawal management strongly preferred
  • Certifications: Current CPR/BLS required (ACLS preferred) 
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Strong understanding of substance use disorders and withdrawal management (ASAM levels 3.5 and 3.7)
    • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions overnight
    • Excellent assessment, documentation, and communication skills
    • Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations
RN Schedule:
Full-time: Daytime
Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm
Rotating weekends and holidays
