This full-time remote position requires a professional who can provide expert therapeutic support to individuals battling substance use disorders. As a remote position, this role allows you flexibility while ensuring you remain fully connected with our supportive and collaborative team. Your work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. You'll be equipped with the necessary technology to facilitate virtual counseling sessions and maintain effective communication with your colleagues.

In your role as a Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct thorough assessments to establish the unique needs and goals of each individual seeking assistance for substance use disorders.
• Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that address both psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction.
• Deliver individual counseling sessions using techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy to inspire positive change.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions designed to foster support among peers, enhancing the recovery journey through shared experiences and strategies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other healthcare professionals to create a coordinated care approach that ensures comprehensive support for each patient.
• Provide crisis intervention services during acute substance-related emergencies to stabilize patients and facilitate access to necessary resources.
• Educate patients and their families about addiction recovery processes, available community resources, and coping mechanisms to promote resilience.
• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal standards to ensure the best possible care and compliance with regulations.
• Engage in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and collaborate on treatment approaches.
• Stay informed of current research and developments in the field of substance use disorder treatment to continuously enhance the quality of care.

You will work primarily with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, assisting them through various stages of recovery. Clients range widely in age and background, and you will provide tailored therapeutic approaches to appeal to their unique circumstances, encouraging a holistic view of recovery that includes mental, emotional, and social dimensions.

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LSCSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, or LCMFT in the state of Kansas.
• Thorough knowledge of substance use disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Demonstrable experience in delivering both individual and group therapy within the addiction treatment context.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling a non-judgmental and empathetic approach to client interactions.
• A robust understanding of maintaining professional boundaries and ethical guidelines while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Proficient skills in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related clinical documentation platforms.
• A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team structure.

While a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience is required, candidates with greater experience in addiction counseling, crisis management, or specialized therapeutic techniques will be highly regarded. Experience working in outpatient settings, particularly with a focus on substance use disorders, is preferred.
