Job description

Behavioral Psychotherapist - Neurology
The Department of Neurology is seeking a specialized Therapist to be embedded within the department to support patients with complex neurological conditions. This role is designed to provide integrated, patient-centered care through close collaboration with Neurologists and the interdisciplinary care team.
The primary sources of referral for this role include patients with:
  • Epilepsy (epileptic and non-epileptic disorders)
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Other complex neurological disorders

These patient populations frequently experience multifaceted clinical, behavioral, and psychosocial challenges that are directly related to underlying neurological conditions.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Compensation: 42.85/hr
Responsibilities:
  • Provides evidence-based diagnostic assessment and treatment for mental health and substance use disorders
  • Collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Ensures care delivery meets standards for safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity
  • Maintains accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements
  • Participates in treatment planning, care coordination, and quality improvement initiatives

Education and Experience Required:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • One (1) year of supervised post-Master's clinical experience
    OR
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)

Certifications and Licensure Required:
One of the following current licenses in the State of Michigan:
  • Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP)
  • Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW)
