Job description

Job Title: Production Program Manager

Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: The Production Program Manager coordinates and leads the build strategy efforts and activities for completing vessels, working under the general direction of the Program Management department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the entire effort of activities on the vessel(s), including monitoring the status of all production budgets and schedules.
  • Oversee the efforts of production and subcontract crafts.
  • Manage material/receiving orders and develop compartment completion and delivery schedules.
  • Act as the primary contact with the ownerโ€™s representative on production aspects of the project.

Qualifications:ย 

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a shipbuilding or related manufacturing field setting, including production planning/scheduling or production supervisory experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly knowledgeable in ship production practices and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
  • Capable of planning cost-effective work procedures compatible with quality requirements.
  • Effective communication, instructional, and leadership skills for directing a production team.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving ability and capability of multi-tasking.
  • Knowledgeable of USCG, regulatory, and customer requirements, as well as craft-specific processes and techniques.
