Job description

Job Title: Bookkeeper (Sage and QuickBooks Online) – Construction/Concrete IndustryLocation: Office is in Marietta Georgia. The position can be remote. 

Job Type: 10 hours a week. Work from home. Must live close to Marietta for office meetings once every 2 weeks

Salary: $20-30/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking an exprienced Bookkeeper with expertise in Sage and QuickBooks Online to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction or concrete industry accounting, managing financial records, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific financial practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements

• Process payroll and job costing in alignment with construction/concrete industry standards

• Maintain general ledger entries and ensure accuracy in financial reporting

• Prepare and file sales tax reports and financial statements

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Collaborate with project managers to track job costs and project expenses

• Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards, including AIA billing and progress invoicing

• Work with external accountants to prepare for tax filings and audits

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience in the construction or concrete industry

• Proficiency in Sage 50, Sage 100, and/or QuickBooks Online

• Strong understanding of construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP schedules, and lien waivers

• Experience with payroll processing and certified payroll reporting

• Knowledge of AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor compliance

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or Viewpoint)

• Familiarity with prevailing wage reporting and union payroll

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)
