Job description

Our mission is to open the door to the life-changing impact of education. We build market-leading, online college credit and test-preparation solutions that help working adults earn their degrees, advance their careers, and achieve economic mobility. Recognized by Fast Company and GSV 150 as one of the world's most innovative education companies, we are also at the forefront of AI-first learning, combining artificial intelligence with the latest learning science to improve access and outcomes at scale.

Our product is our impact. Through our Keys to College and Keys to the Classroom initiatives, we have saved students over $700 million in tuition and enabled hundreds of thousands of learners to pursue and succeed in careers across nursing, teaching, counseling, business, and other high-demand fields. We are deeply focused on measurable outcomes and building products that create meaningful, lasting change in people's lives.

About the Role

Study.com is seeking a hands-on, execution-driven Lifecycle Marketing Manager to build and scale consumer customer journeys that drive new members, retention, and long-term value. This is a rare opportunity to evolve an email and SMS lifecycle function from the ground up with an AI-first architectureโ€”backed by dedicated AI technical resources, a modern data stack, and a team that moves fast. If you've already built AI-enhanced lifecycle programs and are ready to take that work to the next levelโ€”with real infrastructure, real scale, and real impactโ€”this role was designed for you.

This role is based in our Mountain View, CA office and is hybrid in office Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

What You'll Do

  • Own and execute email and SMS marketing programs end-to-endโ€”from strategy and segmentation through build, deployment, analysis, and iteration. This is a hands-on execution role, not a delegation role.
  • Scale with AI and contractors: Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate copy creation, audience segmentation, personalization, and campaign ideation. Manage and direct external contractors to expand campaign output and maintain high execution quality across channels.
  • Develop and execute a full-funnel consumer lifecycle marketing strategy that improves acquisition, reduces churn, and increases LTV across individual learner segmentsโ€”from prospective students to active subscribers to lapsed members.
  • Lead journey mapping and leverage AI tools to manage automated workflows based on individual user behavior, lifecycle stage, and predictive analytics to identify key friction points and opportunities.
  • Implement robust A/B testing and optimization frameworks across lifecycle channels, with clear KPIs and cohort tracking.
  • Partner with Product, BI, and Engineering to drive data-enriched lifecycle experiencesโ€”including event-based triggers, dynamic messaging, and cross-channel orchestration tailored to individual learner needs and motivations.
  • Share performance results and strategic insights with leadership, developing KPIs and forecasts that align with broader marketing and business objectives.

What You'll Bring To The Role

  • 6+ years of experience in lifecycle or retention marketing, with meaningful experience in B2C or consumer subscription productsโ€”ideally within a high-scale SaaS or subscription-based product.
  • Expertise in consumer behavioral segmentation, event-based triggers, funnel design, and customer journey automation for individual end-users (not just account-level or enterprise workflows).
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools (generative AI, automation platforms) to accelerate content production, personalization, and campaign operations.
  • Strong track record across email, SMS, push, and in-product messagingโ€”with deep knowledge of modern lifecycle platforms (e.g., Listrak).
  • Proven ability to craft messaging that resonates with individual consumers at an emotional levelโ€”understanding the motivations, anxieties, and aspirations that drive enrollment and retention decisions.
  • Analytical, AI-forward mindset with a strong bias for action and a get-it-done approach.

Nice To Have

  • Prior work in edtech, consumer SaaS, or mission-driven technology companies

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 per year. Pay is dependent upon factors including skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.

At Study.com, we know that strong communities are built on the power of our diversity, and we respect and strive to understand for the diverse identities, race, ethnicities, backgrounds, and perspectives of our team members. Our work and company culture have been consistently recognized, including:
  • Inc. Best Place to Work
  • Fortune Great Places to Work โ€“ Best Workplaces in the Bay Area
  • Golden Bridge Awards โ€“ Gold Winner, Corporate Social Responsibility
  • San Francisco Business Times & Silicon Valley Business Journal โ€“ Best Places to Work
