Job description

JETSET Pilates is a modern, music-driven Pilates brand on a mission to make transformational fitness accessible, community-centered, and scalable. We are establishing the JETSET brand in one of the most dynamic and competitive fitness markets in the country - and we are looking for an exceptional Assistant General Manager to help lead that charge.

As a founding member of our team, you will partner directly with the General Manager to launch our first DC studio, build our instructor team, and establish the cultural standard for everything that happens on the studio floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Building & Pre-Opening Execution

  • Lead and participate in local marketing initiatives including tabling events, community activations, and cross-collaborations with aligned lifestyle, wellness, and fitness brands

  • Build authentic relationships with prospective founding members, local influencers, and corporate partners to drive pipeline and conversion

  • Support the studio's social media presence - creating content and building an audience that amplifies on-the-ground community building efforts

Instruction & Floor Leadership

  • Instruct a high volume of classes per week, maintaining the same standard of excellence expected of every JETSET instructor

  • Provide real-time feedback, encouragement, and form corrections for clients of all levels - from first timers to long-term members

  • Coach instructors through regular 1:1s and in-class observations - providing structured feedback and quality assurance that ensures consistency in delivery, flow, and client experience

  • Embody the JETSET method in every class - fostering a sense of community, connection, and belonging that keeps clients coming back

Client Experience & Studio Operations

  • Oversee and develop Studio Leads - providing training, guidance, and feedback to ensure a cohesive and high-performing front-of-house team

  • Facilitate new client onboarding, welcoming and integrating newcomers into the JETSET community with intention and care

  • Review Net Promoter Scores periodically and take action on detractor feedback in partnership with the GM

  • Support daily studio operations - stepping in as acting GM as needed and contributing to scheduling, reporting, and operational continuity

GM & Ownership Partnership

  • Provide regular updates to the GM on instructor pipeline, talent development, and floor operations - surfacing risks and opportunities proactively

  • Contribute to the documentation and continuous improvement of studio policies, processes, and playbooks

GROWTH TRAJECTORY

This role is expected to grow with the business. As we scale, there will be opportunities for increasing ownership across talent, training, and instructor development at the network level.

Benefits
  • Health Care benefits
  • 401(k) program
  • Paid time off (PTO)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Senior-level instructor with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility - including coaching, mentoring, and developing other instructors - and a strong preference for experience with reformer Pilates

  • Strong operator mindset with the ability to execute within a defined brand framework - you hold yourself and others to high standards of performance, consistency, and accountability

  • Skilled in coaching, feedback delivery, and instructor development - able to lead through influence and bring people along through credibility and expertise rather than hierarchy

  • Demonstrated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit - you take initiative, solve problems proactively, and thrive in environments where the playbook is still being written

  • Detail-oriented and organizationally disciplined - you maintain rigorous records, track progress meticulously, and follow through on commitments without being managed

  • Outstanding communicator who genuinely connects with people and makes every client, instructor, and team member feel seen and valued

  • Familiarity with the DC wellness and fitness landscape a strong plus
