OVERVIEW
Department: ITS / OEC Multimedia Studio
Schedule (within these hours): Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Reports To: Director, Engineering and Production, Media Services
This is an in-person position, not remote
Computer science, engineering, production, communication majors encouraged to apply
Pay: $16.50
Position Overview
The OEC Multimedia Studio is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant with interests in communication, computer science, engineering, process management and media production. This position plays a key role in coordinating daily studio operations, supporting technical workflows, and ensuring a positive experience for all studio users. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable collaborating with a wide range of university stakeholders, and enthusiastic about participating in high-profile media productions and technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations & Coordination
  • Coordinate and manage all studio reservation requests, ensuring smooth scheduling and communication with users.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and partners such as STELAR, MIC, and Athletics.
  • Coordinate internal communication between student staff and university employees
  • Be on-site to greet clients and walk in inquiries

Technical Support & Media Production
  • Contribute to larger-scale engineering or technical projects within the studio.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of production technology, equipment, and process documentation.

Training & Collaboration
  • Provide training and guidance to undergraduate student workers on studio procedures and production techniques.
  • Collaborate with other university production units and departments to support shared projects and resources.

Social Media and Brand Ambassador
  • Create social media content and deploy with regularity
  • Maintain studio digital signage channels

High-Profile Production Support
  • Participate in hands-on learning opportunities to expand skills in advanced production workflows and engineering concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; ability to engage with diverse faculty, staff, student and professional populations.
  • Demonstrated interest in media production, multimedia engineering, or broadcast systems is a plus but not required
  • Previous work in this field preferred (high school, college / university)
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills and adapt to emerging production technologies.
