Design Intern
Part-Time | Design Team | Goodmans

As a Design Intern, you'll gain real-world experience supporting our Design team while building the technical and creative foundation needed to grow into a Designer or Design Librarian role.

What You'll Do
You'll support the design process from concept to execution while learning industry tools, systems, and best practices.
  • Assist with specifications, drawings, and project documentation
  • Support designers with day-to-day project tasks and deliverables
  • Research furniture products, finishes, materials, and vendor offerings
  • Prepare client presentations and supporting materials
  • Learn and utilize design software including AutoCAD, Project Matrix, and CET Designer
  • Apply company drawing standards and file naming conventions
  • Track design time and maintain organized project documentation
  • Participate in dealer and manufacturer training programs

Design Library & Materials Experience
Working alongside the Design Librarian, you'll gain hands-on experience managing materials and supporting client selections.
  • Pull and prepare finish samples for client meetings and presentations
  • Assemble, organize, and label sample packages for finish selection meetings
  • Maintain and organize sample libraries and ensure materials are stocked and current
  • Assist with MillerKnoll sample walls and displays
  • Coordinate sample orders and deliveries for clients and project teams
  • Return and organize materials after project use
  • Research finish options and verify product availability
  • Support updates to vendor lists, finish libraries, and design resources
  • Help introduce new materials, finishes, and product offerings to the team
