Job Summary
Please read through the following details about Assistant Marketing Specialist Responsibilities.
The Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) is the student government representing all 35,000+ undergraduate and graduate students. This position's focus will be assisting the Associate Director, Student Leadership & Outreach, working with ASUU student government leaders on various student-led initiatives, and marketing projects for ASUU.
The Student Governance and Leadership department at the University of Utah, is hiring an part-time Marketing assistant. This role will provide the Student Governance and Leadership team with a variety of services, including the coordination of and assistance with marketing campaigns both printed and digital, as well as the distribution and upkeep of advertising assets. Further responsibilities include posting an assortment of content on social media and the department's website as well as graphic design, photography, and video production assignments. This position will also be responsible for overseeing posting boards across campus twice a week.
A Marketing assistant needs to have excellent attendance and time management skills, be an efficient and productive worker, and possess professional communication skills as well as the ability to multitask.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Associate Director, Student Leadership & Outreach with any projects related to marketing, advertising and the ASUU Brand
  • Visit & monitor all ASUU posting boards across campus regularly
  • Install, monitor, and take down advertising
  • Compose, schedule, and post a variety of web-based content, including social media campaigns and website information
  • Support the ASUU Marketing Board with graphic design, photography, and video production projects when assigned by the Associate Director, Student Leadership & Outreach
  • Provide office support, assist students, assist in the implementation of policies and procedures and represent Student Governance and Leadership as a staff member, and support ASUU front desk coverage when needed.
  • Coordinate and help facilitate special projects as needed
  • Support with the purchase and distribution of promotional items
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a University of Utah student
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Preferences
  • Students ideally pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, & Adobe Lightroom CC preferred but not required.
