Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: * denotes essential functions)
- *Under general supervision of the Dean of Career & Technical Education (CTE), support the College's mission of student success, workforce development, and continuous improvement by coordinating division-wide student success initiatives across Career and Technical Education programs and centers (ex. Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts, Digital Media, Health Information Technology, Management, Accounting, Waianae Moku Center, and the Office of Workforce Development).
- *Lead implementation and continuous refinement of a division-wide framework that guides how participating programs support students from entry through completion, including shared student success practices, faculty and counselor roles, communication strategies, key student milestones, and continuous improvement processes (CTE Student Journey).
- *Coordinate adoption and effective use of Navigate 360, Lamaku (the University of Hawai'i's learning management system powered by Brightspace by D2L), and related institutional technologies. Develop implementation resources, organize training opportunities, and support instructional leaders in integrating technology into agreed-upon student success practices.
- *Assist the Dean of CTE in coordinating division-wide collaborative planning, reflection, and continuous improvement activities. Coordinate meeting logistics, prepare agendas and materials, document decisions and action items, organize professional learning opportunities, and support division leadership in identifying emerging needs, implementation challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- *Coordinate implementation activities identified by division chairs, center coordinators, program coordinators, and participating faculty. Monitor timelines, follow up on action items, coordinate project logistics, identify implementation barriers, and support successful execution of agreed-upon initiatives.
- *Work collaboratively with student services personnel, academic services personnel, instructional leaders, and the Dean of CTE to strengthen coordinated student support processes that support implementation of the CTE Student Journey.
- *Monitor implementation progress toward established leading and lagging indicators. Analyze implementation results, identify trends and gaps, prepare reports and recommendations, and support continuous refinement of the CTE Student Journey.
- *Develop and maintain implementation guides, templates, meeting summaries, communication resources, shared repositories, and required institutional and grant documentation to support organizational learning, continuity, and consistent implementation across participating programs.
- Represent the College on UH system-wide student success, educational technology, workforce development, and related committees, workgroups, and partnerships.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Student Affairs, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Educational Technology, or related field, and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for project coordination, program coordination, student success initiatives and/or implementation of strategic initiatives; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in the area of project management, student success initiatives, educational technology, professional learning, and/or cross-functional collaboration, as demonstrated by broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles, and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with higher education, student support services, educational technology, grants administration, reporting requirements, or institutional operations.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
- Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, presentation software, databases, and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage complex projects and work independently.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting implementation of strategic initiatives or continuous improvement initiatives in higher education.
- Experience coordinating professional learning, faculty development, or cross-functional collaborative initiatives.
- Experience implementing or supporting Navigate 360, D2L (Lamaku) or another learning management system, CRM platforms, or comparable educational technologies.
- Experience using leading and lagging indicators or student success data to support planning and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership in institution-wide student success or strategic initiatives.
