Job description

The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Student Ticketing Assistant (Student Wage) to support the Athletics Ticket Office.

The Student Ticketing Assistant will provide assistance to the Athletics Ticket Office with various tasks in-office and on gameday related to ticket sales, customer service, and gameday needs. The Student Ticketing Assistant will help ensure a seamless and enjoyable fan experience for those attending ticketed university events. The day-to-day schedule can be set according to the student's class schedule; a minimum of 10 - 20 hours a week is preferred.The Student Ticketing Assistant will abide and adhere to the highest confidentiality standards, as well as all NCAA, ACC, and University rules and regulations.

Roles/Responsibilities:

Ticket Office

  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons in person, on the phone, via email, etc.
  • Process phone and window sales during business hours.
  • Stay informed and up-to-date on all policy and events.
  • Provide administrative support/run errands, as needed.
  • Assist with the printing and organization of paper tickets.

Football and Basketball Gameday

  • Availability for pregame assistance for all Football games, select Basketball games.
  • Assist with crowd control, ticket seller support, and general gameday operations.
  • Assist with the scanning of digital and paper tickets.
  • Assist with the management of the designated student entrances.
  • Provide administrative support/run errands, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills and professional work habits.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Dependable and responsible.
  • Organized and able to multi-task.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Some office experience is preferred.

Position Compensation: $13.00 Hourly

Expectations:

  • 10-20 hours per week between the hours of 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday and Gamedays (hours can be adjusted to fit school schedule, as needed)
  • Dress Code: Business casual (Khakis, polos, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Current undergrad UVA student
Experience: Previous customer service experience is preferred.
Physical Demands:
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does require standing for long periods of time on gamedays.
