Job description

Job Description: The Paid Student Teacher is a temporary position. Incumbents serve as contributing staff members on an identified school learning team during the duration of their semester and/or yearlong university student teaching and are expected to follow the certified teacher work calendar. A Paid Student Teacher may take on various assigned instructional processes and content roles (such as lesson planning, large-group instruction, small-group instruction, individual interventions, data analysis, grading, assisting with digital instruction, subject specialization, and non-instructional tasks). The Paid Student Teacher; is provided with instructional methods and tools; develops expertise in various areas of instruction; contributes ideas for ongoing improvement; and works collaboratively with the school team to review student progress and change instruction to ensure high-progress learning for every child. The Paid Student Teacher is accountable to the site identified Mentor Teacher(s) for contributions to the learning outcomes of students. The mentor teacher(s) help to evaluate Paid Student Teacher.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card in good standing in university teacher preparation program and eligible to begin student teaching Demonstrated effectiveness working with people who have differing cultural backgrounds and/or personal characteristics, including race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or economic differences.

Salary Information: Board Approved Stipend of $6,000/Semester
