Job description

Controller, Warehouse Lead

SUPERVISION:

None

SALARY:

$17.25/hr (starting salary for new hires)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
    High School Diploma
    Forklift Operation Certification

Preferred
    Job related experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Assistant reports to the Controller of ISD742; with the direction of the Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for receiving, checking in and distributing most school district supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Manually unload shipments from delivery trucks to respective storage areas; forklifts and carts may also be used during the process of unloading deliveries
    Inspect all incoming shipments for damage and proper quantities against invoice; match manifest to delivered product and verify accuracy of orders
    Fill orders for supplies from district request forms
    Distribute supplies to appropriate schools by loading, driving and unloading District delivery vehicles
    Assist in the preparation of inventory reports by counting and tallying on appropriate forms
    Maintain a log of daily warehouse activities
    Drive the delivery truck or van
    Record damaged shipments on appropriate forms
    Move equipment within or between buildings; decide on equipment and help needed to complete task
    Rotate inventory by marking dates and repositioning supplies
    Inspect the delivery truck and forklift for visible mechanical problems, proper tire and fluid levels and safe brake operation; determine if repairs are needed
    Alert supervisors of problems or stock shortages
    Assume the duties of Warehouse Lead when that employee is absent
    Complete daily food deliveries to schools by 11:00 a.m.
    Adjust daily schedule as necessary to complete tasks on a timely basis
    Advise supervisors as to space available to store items and suggest quantities to be ordered on stock items
    Responsible for daily security of warehouse locations
    Responsible for inventory and ensuring orders are processed for any supplies removed from inventory
    Other duties as assigned

















PHYSICAL FACTORS:

    Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing
    Lifting up to 125 lbs
    Working in storage freezer
    Working outside in a variety of weather conditions
    Driving in all seasons
