Job description

We are seeking Part time Behavior Technicians to join our team at our program in Baton Rouge, LA.
Earn $17.00 an hour! Monday - Friday Schedule! 8:30am - 4:00 pm
(Must be available for a minimum for 15 hours per week.)
As a member of our team, the Behavior Technician provides one-on-one support and assistance to assigned client(s)/student(s). This could include support and assistance in the use of medical equipment and/or daily activities. A Behavior Technician may provide support to more than one client/student, but not at the same time.
POSITION DETAILS and DUTIES
At Merakey, you can make a change in the life of a child. Using evidence-based treatments (such as Applied Behavior Analysis - ABA) to provide 1:1 direct service in family homes, schools, and community settings. You will get to have fun and let your personality shine while applying individualized treatment.
  • Review and implement IEP or treatment plan
  • Complete timely ongoing data collection, including parent/staff correspondence and all required documentation
  • Provide behavioral interventions and physical interventions as needed. Interventions vary based on program regulations and appropriate training is provided based on same.
  • Accompany and assist clients(s)/student(s) with activities and daily living which may include assisting with toileting and grooming.
  • Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Required:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general educational development (GED) is required.
  • Must have experience working with children
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week from Monday - Friday (7:30am - 4:00 pm)

Preferred:
  • 3-6 months experience in the division of behavioral health services.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician certification
  • Completed college coursework in mental health, child development, or a related field.
