About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Director to join our Indianapolis team. In this role, you will serve as a lead for all dual credit processes for Indy area high school partners, including your own assigned schools. This includes development of professional relationships with secondary school administrators, guidance counselors, secondary school instructors, college program chairs (or department heads), students, and parents. Will manage new instructor credentialing, lead new teacher trainings, and support the College Connection Coaches in new student application and registration process, the identification and implementation of dual credit pathways resulting in successful completion of certificates or degrees prior to high school graduation.
You will leverage your technical and functional abilities to track and implement strategies to ensure all NACEP requirements are met. You will also advise, mentor, and assist high school aged youth with their high school-based college courses and pathways. This position is part of a team focusing on dual credit and works with a K-14 transition team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advising, project management, and communication skills, coupled with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and data driven results in a dynamic environment.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Technical Skills: Have expertise in using multiple student tracking software systems, including, but not limited to Banner, Dual Enroll, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canvas, and Salesforce. Strong data management skills are used to assist the department in decision making. Hands-on experience in tracking students' progress in completing applications, assessments, registrations, and academic progress toward a completion.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and provide data-driven solutions for our high school partners to assist students through their academic journey with Ivy Tech. Monitor student software systems to ensure completion of NACEP compliance.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences. Hands-on experience in managing a classroom, presenting to high school students and administrative teams. Ability to work as with and as a team for a common goal.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically, make decisions independently, and solve complex problems in a timely manner. The ability to go beyond the easiest or surface answer for a student, or an internal or external customer, and get to the root cause of the problem, question or issue to solve it as quickly and professionally as possible.
• Teamwork: Proven experience in collaborating effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals. Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and track progress in a fast-paced environment. A strong ability to pull, collect, and analyze data efficiently and effectively.Hands on experience using databases, spreadsheets, and CRM systems is required.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire, guide, and assist team members toward a common goal while fostering a positive work culture.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Data and project management experience. Experience using ACCESS database is helpful.
• Experience in student advising and/or high school classroom management (teaching, counseling, or support).

Key Responsibilities:

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

• Confirm approved instructors annually by providing documentation and tracking approval of new instructor credentials.
• Monitor DualEnroll.com for instructors' onboardings, syllabus reviews, and site visits.
• Provide annual training/communication to dual credit teachers and school champions on processes and timelines.
• Monitor IvyLearn Professional Development courses for dual credit teachers.
• Track final grades for dual credit classes.
• Track and build all dual credit courses in Banner and monitor courses in Dual Enroll.
• Become an expert in using DualEnroll.com for student applications, registrations, and tracking class rosters.
• Provide training for Knowledge Assessment (including providing C#s for schools so that students can set up My Ivy).
• Provide annual reports and rosters for dual credit schools, especially career centers.
• Identify opportunities for students to complete certifications, certificates, and associate degrees in all applicable programs.
• Advise high school students about pathways to academic degrees and transfer opportunities with Ivy Tech by creating individual academic plans/degree trackers. Advise students in clarifying personal and academic career goals using appropriate student development, human development, and student learning theories.
• Manage assigned schools' dual credit and dual enrollment courses from application through registration. Work with teachers and students to assist with Dual Enroll applications, Knowledge Assessment, and course registration.
• Maintain ongoing communication and good public relations with high school students, parents, and school personnel by coordinating school visits and other recruiting and information activities. Collaborate with high school counselors, teachers, and school personnel to address student needs/issues when appropriate.
• Maintain, update, and distribute dual credit, dual enrollment, and credential attainment resource materials to college and high school personnel.
• Monitor academic progress of assigned dual credit students. Monitor student progress through a communication plan, regular meetings, interventions, assessments, and data collection and analysis. Manage student connection caseload in a manner that promotes retention, persistence, and student success through proactive interactions and interventions.
• Provide support for college fairs and events in all schools.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to student development and success through advocacy, positive attitude, adaptability, approachability, problem-solving, and support.
• Maintain current knowledge of the institution's academic programs, policies, curriculum, and student policies.
• Participate and assist in the coordination of on-campus and off-campus events that support all stakeholders and K-14 program initiatives. This may include some evening or weekend activities.
• Serve on committees assigned.
• Participate in annual relevant conferences related to K-14 Initiatives.
• Serve on interview teams for K-14 when need exists.

Education & Experience:
While formal education or certifications may be beneficial, or even required for certain positions, what we need are candidates who can demonstrate the practical skills and experience necessary to excel in this role. A proven track record of specific experience or skill will be prioritized.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to implement processes aligned with student focused goals.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
• Good public relations skills and self-motivation required.
• Must possess the required knowledge and skills of computers and related software applications for program planning and implementation, including record-keeping.
• Must be able to travel throughout Central Indiana(Marion, Boone, and Hendricks in a mobile office environment as needed. Must have reliable internet access for mobile office environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in higher education and/or with high school-age youth.
• Experience building and working with Microsoft Access.
• Master's degree in an appropriately related field.
• Some administrative or supervisory experience.
