Job description

Description:  Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is currently seeking dependable and student-centered Paraprofessionals to support classroom instruction and student learning in the 2026-2027 school year.  Paraprofessionals work under the supervision of certified staff to assist with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs while helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with the implementation of daily instructional activities.
  • Provide individual and small group support to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Support students with organization, task completion, and engagement.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies.
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned times.
  • Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as directed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • Illinois Paraprofessional License (or Teaching License) or ability to obtain required licensure.
  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, patient, and responsive to student needs.
  • Applicants must be willing to be trained in crisis prevention and intervention and must pass a physical ability test.  

Salary:  See attached 2025-2026 Aide Salary Schedule and summary of 2026 Employee Benefits.  NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
