Job description

HJ Staffing is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for school-based assignments within Houston. In this role, you'll be the frontline of student health, providing direct care, managing medical plans, and supporting a safe, healthy learning environment.

This is a great opportunity for compassionate nurses who want to make an impact outside of the hospital setting, supporting student success across diverse Houston communities.

What You'll Do
  • Administer daily care, medications, and emergency interventions for students

  • Maintain and implement Individualized Health Plans and Emergency Action Plans

  • Ensure compliance with state-mandated health screenings and immunization records

  • Support public health efforts in communicable disease control and reporting

  • Serve as a key liaison between students, families, school staff, and medical providers

  • Promote health education and wellness initiatives on campus

  • Comply with HISD and Texas regulations for school nursing

Qualifications
  • Active Texas RN license

  • CPR/AED certification (required)

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

  • At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience (school nurse experience is a plus)

  • Must be able to pass HISD background check and onboarding requirements

  • Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Tube feeding and Catheterization experience.
