Position Summary Information
Job Goal
To lead the College's institutional research, data strategy, and compliance efforts by transforming complex data into actionable insights. This role serves as a strategic partner to College leadership, driving evidence-based decision-making to improve student success and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct the collection, analysis, and interpretation of key performance indicators (KPI) to evaluate the effectiveness of College programs, student services, and administrative functions. Lead a systematic process for the review and analysis of departmental and committee KPIs.
Manage the College's Edify data warehouse and associated data lake/reporting infrastructure, ensuring streamlined reporting generated from the warehouse.
Chair the Data Management Committee to establish and enforce college-wide policies, standards, and procedures for the accurate, consistent, and secure management of institutional data to support data-informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and student success across all departments.
Design user-friendly dashboards that increase "self-service" data literacy for faculty and staff.
Serve as the chief liaison to faculty and staff to understand data needs, guide the creation of data reports, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data analysis.
Supervise department staff to provide timely and accurate reporting and data support services.
Provide oversight of the College's IPEDS reporting, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely submission to maintain federal Title IV funding eligibility.
Act as the primary point of contact for the State Department of Education Management Information System (MIS) and ensure data submissions align with state funding formula requirements
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or Higher Education Administration) required; Master's degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of five years of progressive experience in institutional research or equivalent data analytics experience required.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:Must possess a valid driver's license.
Essential Functions
Provide disaggregated data analysis by various student demographics to identify achievement gaps and support the College's initiatives for student success and retention. Ensure student outcome data is updated on the college website, at least annually.
Develop and maintain predictive models for student enrollment, retention, and graduation to assist in multi-year fiscal and facilities planning.
Conduct environmental scanning and Labor Market Information (LMI) analysis to support the development of new academic programs and the evaluation of Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings.
Provide administrative oversight for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure all research involving human subjects is conducted ethically and in compliance with FERPA and federal regulations.
Provide administrative oversight for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) committee to ensure compliance with USDA regulations.
Provide high-level analysis and data storytelling to facilitate the strategic and operational planning processes, helping the Cabinet visualize trends and project outcomes.
Lead the design, implementation, and analysis of campus climate, student satisfaction, and community surveys to capture the "voice of the stakeholder."
Assist in the management of program, state, and institutional accreditation processes by providing critical data support, narrative evidence, and program evaluation data.
