About the Role:

The Specialist, Data Analysis and Visualization supports the timely and accurate processing of data and contributes to foundational data analysis efforts within the Product Data Operations function. This role gathers and reviews data from multiple sources, conducts basic analyses, and helps produce clear, interpretable outputs for internal stakeholders.

Working under guidance, this position provides cross-organizational support to ensure consistency in data submission and processing, serving as a liaison between product, account management team, implementations/care teams and the Product Data Operations team. The Specialist plays a key role in maintaining data accuracy and operational efficiency while building knowledge of data structures, tools, and organizational processes.

Currently, this is a remote-first position, and this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements. Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required.

How You Contribute:

  • Support the timely, accurate intake, validation, and processing of data.
  • Gather, organize, and review data from internal and external sources to ensure completeness and consistency.
  • Perform basic data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, or quality issues.
  • Assist in developing reports, summaries, and simple visualizations for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data submission, processing, and consistency efforts.
  • Communicate data-related findings clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Follow established processes and standards for data handling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Escalate atypical issues or data discrepancies to senior team members or management.
  • Apply knowledge gained through guidance and escalation to improve future work.
  • Utilize data tools (e.g., SQL or other analytical tools) to support basic queries and analysis.
  • Participate in team initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of data processes.
  • Support documentation of data sources, definitions, and workflows.
  • Tracks work tasks and priorities within team tools.

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Analytics, or any related field. A combination of education and experience including military service will also be considered.
  • 1 year direct and relevant experience in data analysis or related work.
  • Experience supporting data analysis and developing basic insights from data.
  • Exposure to one or more data analysis tools.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis concepts, data structures, and data quality practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (including Salesforce or other similar CRM tools).
  • Developing proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies.
  • Ability to:
    • Perform routine data analysis and identify inconsistencies or issues.
    • Translate data into clear, understandable outputs for non-technical audiences.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Follow established processes and apply guidance to new situations.
    • Manage multiple tasks with guidance and prioritize effectively, maintaining focus in
      dynamic environments to ensure successful completion of work despite obstacles and
      ambiguity by proactively identifying and proposing solutions.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Demands:
  • Use of a computer for 8 or more hours a day.

The National Student Clearinghouse provides a robust benefit program designed to help meet the needs of each employee and their family, both now and in the future. We offer comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life and disability insurance benefits, for employees and their qualified dependents. Health care, dependent care, and limited purpose flexible spending accounts, as well as a health savings account with annual employer contributions of $300 for employees and $600 for employees who are enrolled with their spouse and/or dependents, voluntary supplemental health plans for Accident and Hospital Indemnity coverage, and infertility coverage are options available for employees to set aside pre-taxed dollars for certain qualifying expenses. We offer a very generous 401k matching contribution program with the opportunity to defer pre-tax and Roth contributions, as well as catch-up contributions for those who are eligible! We are proud to offer a competitive paid leave program consisting of vacation, sick, and personal time, as well as paid holidays, up to 3 weeks of paid parental leave during a 12-month period, and up to 5 days of paid military leave per calendar year. Vacation time will accrue based on length of service, and new full-time hires can accrue up to 13 days of vacation and up to 10 days of sick time per year. On an annual basis, new employees may use up to 32 hours of accrued sick time as personal time. Additionally, the Clearinghouse observes at least 15 paid holidays per year, including company year-end close between Christmas and New Years Holidays.

Additionally, we reasonably believe that the salary range for this position is between $59,500 and $74,000.
