MIU City University Miami is seeking a student-centered and highly organized professional to join our team as Associate Student Services, Placement Coordinator & DSO.

This position plays a key role in supporting student success, retention, employability, and F-1 student compliance, working closely with Academic Affairs, Registrar, Admissions, and the PDSO.


Key Responsibilities

  • Student Services & Retention
  • Monitor student engagement, attendance, and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
  • Provide academic advising, tutoring, and personalized follow-up to students at risk.
  • Implement retention strategies and support student persistence and re-enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready records of student communications and interventions.


Career & Placement

  • Coordinate career readiness and employability activities throughout the student lifecycle.
  • Conduct graduation and exit advising, including placement and employability surveys.
  • Track and report student placement and employability outcomes.


Student Engagement & Campus Activities

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new students.
  • Organize student engagement activities and campus events.
  • Support graduation activities and other student-facing initiatives.


DSO / SEVP-SEVIS Compliance

  • Support the PDSO in maintaining accurate SEVIS records for F-1 students.
  • Assist with the processing and updating of Form I-20s and student status changes.
  • Review student documentation and support compliance with SEVP/SEVIS requirements.
  • Provide guidance to F-1 students regarding immigration-related academic requirements.
  • Identify and escalate compliance concerns to the PDSO.


Documentation & Accreditation

  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
  • Support institutional reporting, accreditation requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Academic Affairs, Registrar, and PDSO to ensure data accuracy across institutional and SEVIS systems.

  • Experience working with F-1 students and SEVIS/SEVP regulations is highly desirable.
