Work Environment

This position operates within a school setting, where your remote work will be complemented by occasional on-site activities as needed. The school is dedicated to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel supported. Your schedule will generally be weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the potential for occasional evening and weekend shifts to cover urgent mental health needs, emphasizing the dynamic nature of this role and the critical support we provide.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for students, taking into account personal history, presenting issues, and relevant risk factors.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans in collaboration with students, emphasizing their unique mental health challenges and promoting emotional well-being.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed therapy to tackle various mental health concerns.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on personal growth, emotional regulation, and effective coping strategies.
• Work with a network of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to provide a holistic approach to student care.
• Provide crisis intervention support during emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and making appropriate referrals as necessary.
• Educate students and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options, empowering them to access community resources.
• Maintain thorough documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to share knowledge and improve collaborative practices.
• Stay updated with relevant laws and ethical guidelines impacting mental health service delivery in educational contexts.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse student population in a school setting, addressing a range of mental health issues from anxiety and depression to trauma-related challenges. Your interventions will directly impact their academic performance and personal development, ensuring that they have the tools necessary to succeed in a structured educational environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Illinois.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally within mental health or educational settings.
• A comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Proficiency in diagnosing mental health conditions and formulating suitable treatment plans.
• Experience in conducting both individual and group therapy sessions.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
