Part-Time / PRN Student Radiology Technologist

BJC HealthCare System is now hiring a Part-Time / PRN Student Radiology Technologist for Barnes-Jewish Hospital in our state-of-the-art new Tower!

Are you currently studying radiology and eager to gain hands-on experience in a leading academic medical center?

Position Details:

  • Flexible Schedule – We work around your school hours, with options for evenings and weekends
  • Work at minimum 2 - four hour shifts per month (welcome to work more & during Spring/Summer break)
  • Evening Shift (Mon-Fri) preferred shift time to work
  • Emergency Department (ED) primary
  • Radiologic / Radiology Technologist

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education
  • Currently enrolled in a Radiology School Program

Experience:

  • Radiology Students
  • No prior experience necessary —training provided!

Overview:

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital pioneered many radiological milestones including work on 3-D treatment planning for cancer, and became the first in Missouri to combine PET and CT scanning. You will be working with an organization on the leading edge of diagnostic radiology. In fact, our radiology department is regarded as one of the top five in the United States, and performs over 453,000 diagnostic imaging examinations annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

Role Purpose:

Under the supervision of a registered technologist performs imaging procedures to adult and pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. Must be currently enrolled in an imaging program. Illinois: Following IEMA guidelines as it pertains to administering radiation/making exposures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the technologist with imaging procedures. Students require direct supervision in surgery.
  • Escorts or transports patients to and from examination area, assists technologist with patient transfers to and from imaging tables, and assists patient as needed.
  • Assists outpatients with completing information necessary to the procedure.
