Full-Time, Program Director, Radiation Therapy (with oversight of Radiologic Sciences Programs)

The Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions at Gwynedd Mercy University invites applications for a dynamic and experienced Program Director to provide leadership, administration, and continuous improvement oversight for the Radiation Therapy program (seeking JRCERT accreditation), with collaborative oversight of Radiologic Technology and Medical Laboratory Sciences programs.

This role ensures compliance with accreditation standards, achievement of student outcomes (including credentialing success), and alignment with workforce needs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead program development, accreditation efforts, and workforce partnerships within a growing, student-centered health professions college.

The Program Director will play a key role in advancing academic excellence, strengthening clinical partnerships, supporting accreditation and compliance, and contributing to the continued growth and innovation of programs housed within the state-of-the-art Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC).

This is a 12-month appointment beginning July 2026 and may be tenure-track or non-tenure-track based on qualifications. Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and teaching experience.

Responsibilities

The Program Director provides academic, administrative, and operational leadership for the Radiation Therapy program, with collaborative oversight of Radiologic Technology and Medical Laboratory Sciences programs. This role ensures program quality, regulatory compliance, student success, and alignment with institutional and workforce needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following, and other duties as assigned.

Program Leadership & Administration

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for program quality and outcomes
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Lead program development, revision, and expansion initiatives aligned with workforce demand
  • Foster a collaborative, student-centered culture across programs

Accreditation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accreditation standards, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • Lead and manage JRCERT accreditation efforts, including self-study preparation, annual reporting, and site visit readiness
  • Monitor and improve key program outcomes, including credentialing/licensure pass rates, retention, completion, and job placement
  • Maintain accurate and current program documentation, including policies, procedures, and clinical affiliation agreements

Curriculum & Academic Quality

  • Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and continuous quality improvement
  • Teach courses within the Radiologic Sciences curriculum, contributing to a high-quality academic experience.
  • Advise and mentor students on academic and career pathways.
  • Ensure alignment with ARRT content specifications, current clinical practice standards and emerging technologies
  • Support faculty in delivering high-quality, innovative instruction across didactic, lab, and clinical settings

Faculty Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty
  • Support faculty development, engagement, and scholarly activity
  • Ensure appropriate faculty workload distribution and coverage

Student Success & Support

  • Oversee admissions, advising, and progression policies
  • Promote student recruitment, retention, progression, and completion
  • Address student concerns and ensure a supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with student support services, advising, and clinical partners

Clinical Partnerships & Workforce Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical affiliates and healthcare partners
  • Ensure high-quality clinical education experiences and sufficient placement capacity
  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations to align programs with workforce needs
  • Support workforce pipeline initiatives, including internships, externships, and partnership programs

Assessment & Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize data to drive decision-making and program improvement
  • Lead program assessment, evaluation, and reporting processes
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes and program effectiveness

Institutional Service & Collaboration

  • Participate in college and university committees and initiatives
  • Collaborate with admissions, marketing, financial aid, and registrar teams
  • Contribute to strategic planning, enrollment growth, and program visibility

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Radiologic Sciences, or a related field
  • Current credential in Radiation Therapy through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R.T.(T))
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Radiation Therapy
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of academic leadership and teaching experience in a JRCERT accredited program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JRCERT accreditation standards, policies, and processes, along with experience in program assessment, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Experience overseeing multiple programs or disciplines
  • Current credential in Radiography (R.T.(R)) preferred; dual credentialing in Radiation Therapy (R.T.(T)) and Radiography (R.T.(R)) is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience as a Program Director or in academic leadership within accredited health professions programs
  • Experience leading or participating in accreditation self-studies and site visits
  • Record of improving credentialing/licensure pass rates and student outcomes
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation, including simulation and interprofessional education
