Job Description

Augsburg University's THRIVE Program supports Education students working toward K-12
teacher licensure. It supports student development, mentorship, professional growth, networking,
community involvement, and helps future educators stay on track for graduation and licensure.

The THRIVE Program Assistant helps with administrative tasks, communication, and program
support. As a student employee, you will work closely with THRIVE faculty, staff, and students,
and help coordinate daily program activities.

  • Provide front desk and general administrative support for the THRIVE Program.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendars, correspondence, program records, and routine office
  • tasks.
  • Help coordinate THRIVE meetings, workshops, retreats, guest speakers, and other
  • program activities.
  • Communicate program information, reminders, and opportunities to students.
  • Assist with social media, newsletters, flyers, and other program communications.
  • Maintain organized program materials, supplies, attendance information, and shared files.
  • Help connect students with THRIVE faculty, staff, mentors, university resources, and
  • professional opportunities.
  • Support mentorship, networking, professional development, leadership, and community-
  • building activities.
  • Assist with outreach to Education students and with activities that encourage
  • participation and continued progress toward graduation and teacher licensure.
  • Help create an organized, welcoming, and student-centered environment for current and
  • prospective THRIVE participants.
  • Complete other program-related responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Rate of Pay: $16.45/hour
  • Minnesota Sick and Safe Time
  • Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave
  • Not eligible for health insurance benefits
Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled Augsburg University student.
  • Reliable and able to complete assigned responsibilities with appropriate follow-through.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with student or program information.
  • Ability to organize tasks, manage time, and communicate when assistance or clarification is needed.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.

Preferred

  • Interest in education, teaching, student development, mentorship, or community engagement.
  • Experience with event planning, office support, student organizations, communications, or social media.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace or similar office and communication tools.
  • Interest in supporting future teachers as they navigate college, professional preparation, and the teacher-licensure process.

As a THRIVE Program Assistant, you will have the chance to build skills in program
coordination, professional communication, event planning, teamwork, leadership, and student
support. You will also gain experience working in Augsburg's Education Department and learn
about teacher preparation and career paths in education.
