Job description

Company Description Since 1996, the LaGuardia Paramedic Program has educated and trained many of New York Cityโ€™s finest paramedics. The program is recognized for its rigorous curriculum, strong clinical partnerships, and commitment to high-quality emergency medical education. Located in New York, NY, the program emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world preparation for pre-hospital care. Prospective instructors join a collaborative academic environment focused on excellence in teaching, student success, and community service.
Role Description The Paramedic Instructor (Certified Instructor Coordinator โ€“ CIC) is a part-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. The instructor is responsible for planning and delivering paramedic didactic and practical lessons, ensuring alignment with state and national EMS education standards. Day-to-day tasks include lecturing on advanced life support topics, supervising skills labs and simulations, assessing learner performance, and providing constructive feedback. The role involves developing lesson plans and assessments, maintaining accurate student records, participating in curriculum review, and collaborating with other faculty and program leadership to support continuous improvement. The instructor is also expected to model professional conduct, uphold safety and compliance standards, and support learners in preparing for certification exams and clinical rotations.
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current EMS protocols, evidence-based clinical guidelines, and state/national paramedic education standards; prior teaching experience in EMS or allied health is highly beneficial.
  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field (such as EMS, healthcare, education, or public safety) preferred; prior experience with New York City EMS systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in New York, NY on a part-time schedule, reliably manage time, and meet program deadlines and administrative requirements.
