Supervisor: Director, Ticket Sales
Classification: Part-time/Non-exempt/Seasonal
CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches is the Spring Training home to the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. This is a two-team state-of-the-art facility designed for year-round use through Spring Training games, amateur baseball, non-baseball sporting events, community events along with banquets, corporate events, weddings and more.
Summary/Objective:
In this apprenticeship, you will gain valuable experience in the Spring Training MLB ticket sales and service industry by working closely with the ticket office team. You will be involved in various sales campaigns, ticket operations, and game-day staffing. This role offers hands-on learning opportunities in customer service, sales strategies, and event coordination, providing a comprehensive understanding of the ticket sales process from start to finish.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

- Complete sales campaigns through learning the process of research, prospecting, and cold calling
- Acquire knowledge of ticketing and CRM systems to assist with customer transactions and report generation
- Manage the customer information email and general phone line daily
- Create and distribute schedules for box office ticket sellers and taker
- Assist box office ticket sellers and takers with game day sales efforts
- Work all 32 home games for both the Astros and Nationals.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned
Education or Experience and/or Skills:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university, having completed at least one semester, or recently graduated with a degree in Sports Management, Business, or a related field.
- Must be prepared to work a minimum of 30-40 hours per week, with extended hours during the month of March.
- Possess a positive demeanor and a desire to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office and ballpark stadium setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Ability to work in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue in all weather extremes for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Travel
Minimum travel is expected for this position.
