Job Title:
K-8 Math and Reading Tutor (College Student Position)
Position Type:
Part-Time | Flexible Schedule | In-Person or Virtual (depending on school/program)
Job Summary:
We are seeking motivated and responsible college students to provide academic tutoring in math and reading to elementary and middle school students. Tutors will work with students one-on-one or in small groups to support skill development, homework completion, and confidence building. This is a great opportunity for students interested in education, youth development, or community service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic support in math and/or reading to students in grades K-8.
  • Use age-appropriate strategies and materials to support comprehension and skill-building.
  • Assist students with homework, class assignments, or foundational skills.
  • Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Track student progress and communicate regularly with program staff or teachers.
  • Attend required training and follow program policies and safety guidelines.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor to young learners.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a current Freed-Hardeman University, Lane College, Union University, UT Martin, or University of Memphis student (education or related fields preferred).
