Job Summary:

SUNY Upstate Medical University's Physician Assistant Program is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time faculty member to join our academic team. This role involves contributing to the educational mission of the program through instruction, mentorship, and participation in curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate didactic courses, ensuring alignment with program objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as an Academic Advisor and Capstone Project Advisor, providing guidance on academic and professional development.
  • Participate in student recruitment and admissions activities, contributing to the selection of qualified candidates.
  • Evaluate student performance during OSCEs, assessing competencies such as clinical history taking, physical examination, diagnostic reasoning, patient communication, and professionalism.
  • Engage in the program's continuous self-assessment and annual review processes, including the revision of program policies, academic standards, and behavioral standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the learning environment and ensure the program meets the evolving needs of the healthcare community.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a closely related field
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
