Position Specific Accountabilities
- Develop, plan, and implement policies of the health center.Maintain standards of care consistent with the Accreditation for Ambulatory Healthcare (AAAHC) requirements.
- Provide clinical leadership for SHSoperationsincluding but not limited to recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, development, and evaluation of professional and support staff.
- Provide clinical input and vision for strategic planning for SHS to both the Director of Operations as well as the Medical Director
- Providea full range of primary care medical services functioning as a nurse practitioner, on a part-time basis;maintainpatient flow through the clinic by functioning as a nurse for the physician and nurse practitioner when needed.
- Develop, plan, implement, and/or moderate programswith the Medical Director,including the student health education and awareness programs,continuous quality improvement, peer review, and the SHS Student Ambassadors
- Serve as a liaison and information referral source for the university, students, community agencies and organizations, and professional associationsregardinghealth issues and interface with the other university departments on areas of mutual interest.
- Review, edit, and update the SHS Policies and Procedures manual annually at minimum
- Must be eligible and accepted for malpractice insurance coverage with the university insurance carrier.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of health education programs for the LMU community.
- Represent LMU within the college health and medical community and at professional organizations or associations: serve on health-related committees as required.
- Provide general counsel to University Administratorsregardingmedical policy when requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Requisite Qualifications
ABachelor's andMaster's Degree in Sciencein Nursing.
Minimum two years of administrativeand supervisoryexperience in a health care clinic setting.Threeyears of increasingly responsible experience as Advanced Practice Nurse in family practice or related field.
Certificate from an approved college or university-based Nurse Practitioner program.
Valid and current California license as a Registered Nurse.
Valid and current California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Nurse Practitioner certificate.
Valid and current California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Nurse Practitioner Furnishing certificate.
Valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate.
Valid and current Advanced Practice Nurse National certification.
Valid and current basic life support (or higher) cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Demonstrated knowledgeof advanced nursing care principles, practices, methods, and procedures. Knowledge of medical/legal issues and regulations governing health and allied health services. Knowledge of resources for health education.Understanding ofhealth insurance, especially student health insurance. Awareness of current practices in college, industrial, ambulatory, or allied healthfield.Experience in Student Health/College Health is preferred.
Establish administrative policies and procedures and implement them to ensure the orderly and effective management of the organization. Apply clinical skills in a student health services environment. Develop and implement a health education and promotion program.Effectively interact with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population. Analyze complex problems and implement change. Compose written reports and health education and information materialsand directly supervise students working on these materials in collaboration with campus partners.
Primarily those of a competent nurse/nurse practitioner including but not limitedto: providing basic gynecological health care, performing accurate vital signs, venipuncture, I.V. line placement, basic life support, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment, interpretation and performance of lab testing (wet mounts, urine sediment examination, microscopy, centrifuge operation, assisting with minor surgery and application of liquid nitrogen).
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral)evidencedby background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable ofPoint N Click electronic medical record system
Operate Windows based computer software applications such as Outlook, MicrosoftWordand Excel as well as University web-basedapplicationssuch as Qualtrics and Smartsheet
