PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Bullying Prevention and Intervention Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and support to schools in implementing comprehensive bullying prevention, intervention, and education programs. This position serves as the district's primary resource for addressing bullying concerns by collaborating with school administrators, counselors, social workers, students, parents, and community agencies to promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
The coordinator ensures compliance with state laws, board policies, and district procedures while supporting schools in investigating, documenting, preventing, and resolving bullying incidents. This individual also develops educational programs and resources that foster positive school climate and strengthen relationships between schools and families.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Level:
Master's Degree in Education, School Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
Valid teacher certification in any area or eligibility for certification

Minimum of five years of successful experience in education or a related field
Routine physical activities are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Proficient Skills:
Experience working with student discipline, school climate, counseling, behavior intervention, or student services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop, implement, and monitor district-wide bullying prevention initiatives and best practices.
- Coordinate evidence-based prevention programs that promote respect, inclusion, empathy, and positive student behavior.
- Support schools in implementing social-emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices, and positive school climate initiatives.
- Collaborate with school leadership teams to develop proactive strategies that reduce bullying behaviors.
- Assist schools in conducting school climate assessments and identifying areas for improvement.
- Serve as the district point of contact for parents regarding bullying concerns and district procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to students and families navigating bullying situations.
- Facilitate meetings between families and school personnel when appropriate to resolve concerns.
- Connect families with counseling, mental health, and community resources as needed.
- Promote open communication between schools and parents regarding bullying prevention and intervention.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to principals, assistant principals, counselors, social workers, school psychologists, and teachers regarding bullying prevention and response.
- Assist schools in investigating complex bullying cases and ensuring appropriate documentation.
- Review bullying reports to ensure consistency and compliance with district procedures.
- Support schools in developing intervention plans for students involved in bullying incidents.
- Monitor trends and identify schools requiring additional support or professional development.
- Develop and deliver professional learning for administrators, teachers, counselors, support staff, students, and parents.
- Coordinate annual bullying prevention awareness activities and campaigns.
- Provide resources and educational materials related to cyberbullying, conflict resolution, digital citizenship, and school safety.
- Present information to district leadership, school boards, and community organizations as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of bullying reports and district data.
- Analyze bullying trends and prepare reports for district leadership.
- Monitor compliance with district policy and state reporting requirements.
- Recommend program improvements based on data analysis and stakeholder feedback.
- Work closely with Student Services, School Counseling, School Social Work, Special Education, School Safety, Behavioral Support, and Mental Health Services.
- Establish partnerships with law enforcement, juvenile services, mental health agencies, and community organizations.
- Participate in district committees related to school climate, student wellness, and safety.
- Assist with crisis response and student support when appropriate.
- Participate in district committees and initiatives that promote student well-being.
- Prompt and regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.
