Job description

POSITION TITLE: Instructional Management Coordinator REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Secondary Education BEGINNING DATE: Open Until Filled

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to exercise good judgment, take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact and communicate with staff and the public
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and statistics and to develop meaningful reports from that information
  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of programs and activities
  • Ability to develop long-range plans
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, as necessitated by work assignments including students, parents, school personnel and members of the business community




EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Educator's license
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree with a current license in a CTE Area -OR-
  • Bachelor's degree and current license in Curriculum Development or Instructional Technology

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years in the last eight years in one of the following areas:
    • Classroom teacher in a CTE area
    • Professional support in an instructional setting such as Career Development Coordinator, Special Populations Coordinator, Curriculum Specialist, or Instructional Technology Specialist.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  12 months 

SALARY:  Teacher salary schedule

FLSA STATUS:  Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide instructional support to CTE teachers and personnel within the local school system.
  2. Assist with implementing CTE curriculum.
  3. Provide technical support and training for CTE teachers and other CTE staff on utilizing the CTE computerized instructional management system.
  4. Provide assistance and support to CTE teachers and other CTE staff to improve the instructional process, document student learning, and improve student outcomes to ensure the success of students in a high wage, high-skill, or high-demand global economy.
  5. Prepare an annual Instructional Management Coordinator Calendar of Work.
  6. Maintain relevant record keeping and inventory systems related to job responsibilities.
  7. Participate in professional development activities at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
  8. Engage in professional growth opportunities to remain current with trends, demands, and emerging careers in a rapidly changing workforce.
  9. Network with other instructional management coordinators in LEA, region and state.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting and walking.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.
  • Ability to operate technology for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and drive delivery vehicle (station wagon, van and/or truck) to a variety of sites.
  • Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students.
