Career Services Marketing & Social Media Student Assistant (Work-Study & Non-Work-Study)
Position Summary
The Marketing and Social Media Student Assistant works as a member of the Career Services team, serves in the front office, and supports the coordination of marketing strategies and Career Services social media. This position helps promote Career Services programs, events, resources, job and internship opportunities, and student success initiatives through digital marketing, social media engagement, content creation, and campus outreach. The position also provides customer service and event support while helping to increase student awareness of and use of Career Services resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, edit, and publish clear and engaging content for Career Services social media platforms, including photos, graphics, videos, event promotions, career advice, student success stories, and job and internship opportunities.

Help coordinate, carry out, and maintain social media and marketing strategies that promote Career Services programs, events, resources, Handshake, and career development initiatives.

Use Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, Studio, and other approved technologies to design marketing materials.

Provide professional customer service at the front desk by answering phones and emails, welcoming visitors, and assisting students, employers, and guests.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses
Experience
Required:
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree at Texas Wesleyan University and maintain eligibility for student employment in accordance with university policies.
  • Interested in social media, marketing strategy, writing, content creation, and student engagement.
  • Major coursework in advertising, communications, marketing, or a related field.

Preferred:
  • Experience with social media management, content creation, graphic design, marketing, customer service, campus involvement, web content, or marketing campaigns.

Training
  • Participate in training, apply feedback, ask questions, and continue developing communication, teamwork, professionalism, leadership, critical thinking, technology, and career and self-development skills.
