Job Summary
The student assistant position in Development will assist the Development team with day-to-day tasks and special projects. Student should have the maturity to handle sensitive information and will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with campus fundraising efforts
  • Support alumni and fundraising events (virtual and on-campus when appropriate), which could include managing virtual events, greeting guests, transporting guests on golf carts, event set up and clean up, creating nametags and event decorations.
  • Assist team members in scheduling on- and off-campus and virtual meetings and events
  • Assist with assembling donor mailings and other in-house correspondence
  • Assist with crowdfunding campaigns and other online engagement efforts
  • Enter call reports into the database
  • Communicate with donors, potential donors, alumni, and others on the telephone, via email and online (Zoom or Microsoft Teams) regarding fundraising, campus activities and events
  • Interact with donors and other friends of GGC and positively represent the college
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in six (6) credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good conduct standing for the duration of employment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • 6 months to a year of event, office management, and/or fundraising experience and experience with database management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills to accomplish tasks
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Technical proficiency with social media and online communications platforms preferred
  • Must use independent judgment and critical thinking skills to react appropriately to a variety of needs within the department
