Job Summary
The Data Support Associate role is an integral part of the Data Analysis team, ensuring the Data Analysis team, Student Information team, KIPP Forward team (high school and alumni counselors), and schools have the data management, reporting, and assessments support they need to make data-driven decisions and intentionally support students and alumni. The starting salary range for this role is $54,039-$57,765. This is a full-time, occasional flexibility role based at HDQ with an anticipated start date of July 2026.

About the Role
You will play an integral role in promoting data-driven decision-making at KIPP DC. Youโ€™ll be responsible for supporting the data analysis, student information, KIPP Forward, and other teams with data entry, management, and reporting projects along with assessment and event logistics. This is a unique opportunity to learn how data work is conducted at a relatively large charter school network.
Location and Type of Work
This is an exempt position and will report to the Associate Director of Data Analysis. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support, and this position will regularly provide on-site support to school teams, frequently partner with other headquarters teams, or regularly work in multiple locations. Because of the nature of the work, this role allows for occasional flexibility and will be required to be onsite 4 days per week.
Responsibilities
The percentages for each key responsibility are estimates, and other duties may be assigned. Flexibility and responsiveness are encouraged to accommodate organizational needs.

Data management support (50% of time)

  • Improve the quality and consistency of data in KIPP Forwardโ€™s data systems (Salesforce database, Google Sheets tools, and Overgrad) to help the KIPP Forward team provide targeted support to high schoolers and alumni
  • Enter and upload data to KIPP Forwardโ€™s data systems, PowerSchool (KIPP DCโ€™s student information system), and other data platforms as requested
  • Execute routine quality assurance processes (ranging from 3x a week to monthly) that help ensure KIPP Forwardโ€™s data systems and PowerSchool have up to date data
  • Monitor high school seniorsโ€™ college acceptance letters; ensure letters are compliant, track in data system, and report progress to 100% accepted to KIPP Forward and high school leaders weekly
  • Support student information and data analysis teams with special projects related to data entry, cleaning, and management

Data analysis and reporting support (35% of time)

  • Create and maintain Google Sheets data collection tools for the KIPP Forward team regularly; create Google Sheets tools for other teams as needed
  • Compile data from Salesforce, PowerSchool, and other data sources for data analysis requests
  • Generate student progress reports and maintain a few Tableau reports to support progress monitoring
  • Assist data analysts with creating data presentations for school leaders and managing the data platform used by teachers to record attendance, behavior, and family communications (DeansList)

Assessment and KIPP Forward event support (10% of time)

  • Support the smooth administration of PK-12 assessments, including connecting with testing companies, ordering and distributing supplies, creating user accounts for test proctors, and providing day-of support
  • Support KIPP Forward team events, such as end of school year celebrations and preparation of alumni care package boxes
Professional Development (5% of time)
  • Complete online trainings to rapidly grow Google Sheets skills within first two months of role
  • Gradually learn about other platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Overgrad, PowerSchool, and Tableau) on the job
  • Gain deep understanding of college and career counseling and PK-12 education and their data needs
  • Participate in organization-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings
  • Receive professional development from the associate director of data analysis in the aforementioned areas
Requirements & Preferences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience analyzing and manipulating large amounts of data
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g. Salesforce, PowerSchool)
  • Professional experience in K-12 and/or non-profit sector
