Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting customers, maintaining the appearance of the sales floor, managing retail inventories, and assisting with textbook operations. This position requires someone that works well with the public in a retail environment. The individual must be able to be productive in an environment that has many interruptions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers.
  • Operate cash register
  • Maintain merchandising standards and set retail displays.
  • Understand details of sales and promotions.
  • Assist with special events.
  • Develop product knowledge.
  • Perform other related bookstore duties as needed.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Self-motivated and committed to working with little supervision.
  • Ability to manage concurrent activities.
  • Capable of decision making and problem solving.
  • Oral and written communication skills.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Retail experience preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Up to 10 hours per week, evenings and Saturdays required.
