Department Name: Student Affairs
Position Reports To: Associate Director of UG and Grad Career Counseling
FLSA STATUS: Hourly
Salary: $19.18
Benefits: Limited University's benefits
Days & Hours: Variable weekly schedule to be established by supervisor. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.
BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB:
Perform administrative and clerical support duties for the Career Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform a variety of clerical tasks including filing, typing, data entry and archived file retrieval
• Assist team members in providing knowledgeable and courteous customer service to faculty, staff, and students via in-person, telephone, remote communication formats and e-mail
• Assist with event planning and event coordination
• Provide administrative support to the office staff
• Other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education requirement:
    • Experience in clerical assistance, customer service and problem solving
    • Experience working with Excel spreadsheets and data entry
    • Must be a current student enrolled at GGU
  • Knowledge of:
    • Standard PC operating systems and office equipment
    • Proficiency using Internet and current version of MS Office (Word and Excel)
    • Excel spreadsheets, including entering, sorting, filtering, and searching data
    • Standard document filing and retrieval practices

  • Skills and abilities:
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Work effectively in a team environment, utilizing in-person and online meeting formats (MS Teams, Zoom)
    • Operate general office equipment (fax machines, copiers, scanners, printers, etc.).
    • Manage sensitive student information and maintain confidentiality
    • Work in a fast-paced environment and juggle various tasks under minimal supervision
    • Exercise good judgment and perform duties with attention to detail
