Job description

Box Office Customer Service Position

Are you interested in the performing arts and events across campus? The Box Office customer service position is a great opportunity to be part of the team that supports concerts, plays and dance performances, as well as NCAA sports and speakers on campus. We sell tickets and assist with customer needs and inquiries. In this position, you will develop administrative and customer service skills, be informed about campus events and have the opportunity to attend performances. We have a great team and if you are excited about shows and events, like to talk to people, and are looking for a fun campus job with variety, this may be the right position for you!

This is a student Level A position paying $14.50 per hour.

Offer is contingent on the completion of the PCI DSS training and the signing of the PCI Security Awareness and Confidentiality Agreement for campus personnel with access to credit card information.

Responsibilities:
  • Arrive on time and check daily updates at start of work shift
  • Sell tickets and merchandise through internet sales, phone, and counter sales
  • Answer phones and assist customers
  • Field customer inquiries and problems using Box Office materials and online resources
  • Be familiar with Middlebury College Arts and Events calendar
  • Count and balance cash drawers and at end of day
  • Marketing assistance including distribution of posters, brochures, and social media, etc.
  • Archiving of Arts events
  • Keep work area neat and organized, empty recycling and trash as needed
  • Willingness and flexibility to work day, evening and weekend shifts for Box Office supported events
  • Must be reliable, courteous and outgoing
  • Represent Middlebury College to the community
  • Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission
